Road Closures and Traffic Arrangements
Traffic arrangements and directions for race participants can be found on the registration page of each route.
Click on your chosen running route and read the information provided for directions to the starting point, as well as recommendations from the organizers.
Directions to the marathon’s finish line area in Ancient Shiloh, open to runners’ family members, guests, fans and the general public:
1.Coming from Jerusalem: Highway 60 northbound toward Shiloh is open to traffic.
2.Coming from the East and the Jordan Valley: Highway 458 (Alon Road) via Kida to Nof Kramim to Ancient Shiloh.
3.Coming from the Center and the North: Highway 5 from Rosh Ha’Ayin to Ariel to Tapuach Junction to Highway 458 (Alon Road) to Kida Junction to Nof HaKramim Road to Ancient Shiloh.
(For those traveling from this direction, please note that due to the marathon’s route, Highway 5 from the direction of Rosh Ha’Ayin to Ariel will be open to traffic from 7:30 AM. Highway 60 from Ariel to Shilo will be closed to traffic in both directions from 5:30 AM until 11:30 AM). Navigating the route using Waze is recommended.
Coming from the Center to Ariel via Highway 55 toward Karnei Shomron to Emmanuel to Giti Avisar Junction.
4.Coming from the Center: Highway 465 toward Beit Aryeh to Neve Tzuf to Ateret to Highway 60 northbound to Shiloh.
Road closures and traffic arrangements for residents of the towns and cities along the marathon route:
Rosh Ha’Ayin: The following roads will be closed to traffic in both directions from 4:30 AM until 6:00 AM:
Entrance to the city from the west from Even Ha’Ezer Interchange (Lev ha’Aretz) until Begin Square on Kibbutz Galuyot Boulevard. Nahal Raveh Street from the schools until the traffic light on Kibbutz Galuyot Street.
Ha’Tzionut Road from Bazelet Square until Nahal Raveh Square.
*While the roads are closed, the starting-line area of the marathon at the Tzlilei Hamuzika Lake will be accessible from the city entrances and the neighborhoods to the South.
Eastbound Highway 5: Closed to traffic from Kassem Interchange until Barkan Interchange beginning from 4:30 AM until 7:30 AM.
Coming from the Center toward Ariel, take Highway 55 via Karnei Shomron to Emmanuel to Giti Avisar Junction.
Coming from Oranit, Elkana and Sha’arei Tikvah, take Kfar Kassem Road.
Exiting these towns, Highway 5 westbound toward the Center will be open to traffic.
*Highway 5 westbound to Ariel until Kassel interchange will be open to traffic for the entirety of the race.
*Highway 5 from Ariel to Tapuach Junction will be open in both directions during the entirety of the race.
Jerusalem Boulevard in Ariel: Closed to traffic in the eastbound direction from the city’s entrance until the Eastern gate (adjacent to the university) from 5:30 AM until 9:40 AM.
Entry and exit from Ariel will be open to traffic in both directions from the roundabout at Ariel Junction - Efron Road (the road leading to the industrial zone).
The gas station and hotel will be open to traffic during the entirety of the race.
Traffic in the city in the direction of the university and Eastern neighborhoods and back will be routed through HaTziyonut Road.
The Ariel-Nofei Nehemiah-Rehelim Road will be closed to traffic in both directions beginning at 5:30 AM until 10:30 AM.
The towns of Nofei Nehemiah and Rehelim will be accessible via special traffic arrangements in the direction of Tapuach Junction (please follow instructions provided by police and ushers at the towns’ entrances).
Highway 60 from Rehelim Junction until Shiloh will be closed to traffic in both directions from 5:30 AM until 11:30 AM.
Shiloh and other towns in Binyamin along Highway 60 will be accessible via Highway 458 (Alon Road), which will be open to traffic from Michmas Junction until Tapuach Junction.
Nof HaKramim Highway from Kida Junction until Shiloh Junction will be open to traffic (this highway connects Highway 60 and Highway 458/Alon Road).
The town of Eli will be accessible through special traffic arrangements in the direction of North Ma’ale Levona Junction (please follow instructions provided by police and ushers at the town’s entrance).
The town of Ma’ale Levona will be open from South Ma’ale Levona Junction to Highway 60.
Road closures and recommended driving routes will be updated on Waze on the day of the event.
